Our history
Husband and wife, Roy and Dorothy Hawes, set up the business in 1973 as a small haulage firm with a Ford D series Tipper, quickly expanding with a JCB and a Caterpillar excavator. Roy was hiring himself out to contractors as an owner driver.
The skip hire business started when Roy Hawes spotted an opportunity for a reliable and speedy skip hire service in the High Wycombe area. He started the skip business with one second hand skip lorry and ten 6 yard skips.
In 1980 Hawes Plant, Tool & Skip Hire opened their plant and skip delivery depot which was just outside of High Wycombe.
In 2004 Hawes Skip Hire took over one of the local skip hire companies. Since then the skip hire business has grown year on year due to our excellent customer service, fast delivery and collection, along with our consistent reinvestment in more vehicles.
Investment
In 2012 Hawes Plant, Tool & Skip Hire moved to our current premises on the Cressex Business Park.
Since then we have invested millions of pounds in the site to ensure we meet and exceed our customers’ needs for plant & tool hire and waste management.
